AvisAvis H. - Employment Counselor

Avis Hopkins has been a resident of Prince Rupert since 1982 and appreciates the unique identity of Prince Rupert and the Northwest.  With her husband and children (now grown) she has explored many of the paths and parks of the area.  

Avis started with the North Coast Community Skills Centre in 1995 as an Administrative Assistant and continued with it as it evolved into the Career Resource Centre, where she is now an Employment Counselor. 

Avis has degrees in English (SFU) and Journalism (Carleton) and enjoys using these skills to assist people in finding work and choosing the career path that suits them best.  She is also qualified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator  

 

PaddyPaddy J. - Manager

Paddy has recently (May, 2009) returned to the Career Resource Centre after a four-year period with Northern Health.  As Manager, Paddy is responsible for all day-to-day operations the Career Resource Centre, The Edge and other contracts under the North Coast Career Services Society.

Paddy has spent thirty years in the Non-Profit sector assisting individuals to define and achieve personal goals; she is committed to advancing our client’s needs and providing leadership to the Career Resource Centre and The Edge Youth Employment Centre.

Paddy holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia and a Business Administration certificate from Northwest Community College and has attended numerous workshops, seminars and conferences on advocacy and non profit management and leadership.

 

Pat Pat M. - Administrative Assistant

Welcoming clients to our Centre, Pat will help you access the services you require to prepare for employment readiness.  Pat joined our staff in October 2005, bringing an extensive receptionist/office assistant history from both Alberta and B.C. 

 

 

 

 

 

PattyPatty S. - Executive Assistant/Bookkeeper

 Patty moved to Prince Rupert in 1982 and raised her three children here. She has been employed with the CRC since 1999.

Patty presently holds the position of Bookkeeper/Executive Assistant. She has recently taken on the challenge of looking after the network and plans to expand her knowledge in this area.

 

 

 

 

RichardRichard W. - Employment Counselor

Richard Wilson has been an employment counselor at the Career Resource Center since August 2006. His expertise includes resume writing and job search coaching, and he also presents training workshops on topics such as basic job searching techniques and interview skills.

Richard has his Business Administration Diploma and he continues to work toward his Career Management Professional certification. His past positions include Employment Coordinator with G.T. Hiring Solutions, Tour Guide for the North Coast Explorer, and machinery operator for North Coast Timber Sawmill.
